Dear Don Mills members:
Our season is well under way, and I hope you’re enjoying your tennis and all the club’s offerings.
Some updates and reminders for all members:
- The Singles tournaments are successfully under way with 6 divisions of players. Participants are saying they’re enjoying it a lot and meeting new people. Participants are reminded to please stay on track or get ahead with your play schedule and to report in to Nigel McClean if there are undue difficulties. Many take holidays in July/August.
- House League will be starting this coming Wednesday June 15. Registered participants have been placed into 4 teams, latecomers will have to go on a waitlist. All the courts will be busy Wed nights from now on 7-9 pm, with another two courts booked until 10 pm.
- Coach Stephanie has new lesson offerings and has this to say: “I’ve had a blast meeting new members. My current adult evening clinics will be changing. I’ll be offering the following classes on Mondays starting July 4 until Aug 29: 5-6pm Net Play; 6-7pm Groundstrokes Forehand/Backhand. Also, an adult daytime ‘camp’ session is being offered in August. Please check out this link for full details. Contact me directly if you’re interested in these new coaching offerings.”
- Coach Pavel will have summer camp starting soon too. Please check Pavel’s offerings at link, then make direct contact with him for registration.
- We look forward to the July 1st Canada Day social. Members are asked to wear red and white apparel, otherwise you offer a friendly fee
for not doing so. We’re trying to celebrate Canada Day! This social is only for Adult and senior DMTC members. No juniors. - A special event in conjunction with Tennis Canada, the ICTA, Don Mills Tennis and OTA will be held on Sat July 9 th – Tennis Rocks Tournament for Juniors. Four courts will be blocked off for this occasion from 8 a.m to 7 p.m. to host a metro-wide regional tournament for juniors. Raindate is Sunday July 10. Please avoid booking on these days or plan your play accordingly to accommodate this club event. Don Mills Tennis believes in sponsoring and developing junior tennis. Full tournament registration information will be available shortly at the DMTC, ICTA and OTA websites.
- Changes of parameters on our Court Reserve booking tool will continue to be communicated through Court Reserve. Thank you for cancelling your courts when you know you’re not coming and for continuing to book your courts accurately, singles for singles play, doubles names for doubles play.
