Opening Social canceled Sat April 29th – delayed to next Sunday May 7, 2023
Hello Don Mills members:
The story is about the weather. We were lucky we made it through this week with quite frosty tryouts most mornings – – at least we weren’t rained out for days on end! We are one of the few clubs who completed our numerous tryouts outdoors without booking indoor courts, despite some dicey moments of doubts and Plan B-ing and Plan C-ing.
A small update on DMTC relateds.
The club officially opens Sat. April 29th with a Social supposed to happen 10-2 pm that day, but sadly with a very wet 90% rain/POP forecast, the Board has decided to postpone the Opening Social till next week Sunday, May 7, 10-2 pm, where we see a sunny forecast right now. Of course, all that could change yet again with mother nature, but we’ll stay hopeful that May 7 will beat 90% rain hands down. Please come for the Opening Social next Sunday, which it will be a much more pleasant [and warmer] event.
All the grounds work has been completed and indoor cleaning of the clubhouse took place this past weekend – with our lovely volunteers!
And Juniors had a separate welcome Open House party last Sunday. A fun time was had by all.
You should have got your Welcome message from Court Reserve by now and as of April 30th, you may go online to book for May 1 onwards. If you haven’t got your Welcome message from Court Reserve, then you are not activated yet. That would only be a handful of people. Perhaps because they haven’t paid up yet??
Ad hoc play without an online booking can begin as of this Sat. April 29, if the courts are playable. Please play safe. Squeegees are available at the side of the courts if it’s slightly damp and you are keen.
