Greetings DMTC members!

September has arrived with all its busy-ness sending kids back to school, university, new jobs maybe, or new job shifts… but there is still 4 weeks left to your summer tennis season! So keep enjoying.

Congratulations to DMTC’s ICTA Ladies Bteam, who won their quarter finals vs Edenbridge TC, to proceed onto semi- finals, where they took a clean sweep of all 4 lines vs Vaughan TC all the way out in Kleinburg. They are now finalists at the ICTA Championships taking place this coming Saturday Sept 20 th at Sobeys Stadium, playing against Central Park TC, at approximately 12.30 pm. Come on out and support the DMTC ladies, who are valiant fighters .. considering that this team might never have happened this year and was going to fold. Vamos! Forza!!

Come and support DMTC’s Junior All Stars team who are Finalists as well at the ICTA Championships under the wonderful captaincy of Johnny Chow. They play Sat Sept 20 th at Sobey Stadium as well, against Milton TC, match time is approx. 3 or 3:30 pm.

Not shabby at all Don Mills! – for a small community club, always fielding one or two teams every year at the final ICTA Championships.

Come on out and support the DMTC players at the Championships, and other club friends and family who made it to the Championships: there are the other leagues playing too: Mixed A, B and C, and 55+ leagues.

Our club doubles tournaments are progressing nicely: the Mixed Doubles has wrapped, the Mens Doubles has finished the RR round this past Fri/Sat/Sun. Semis the weekend of Sept 27/28. The Singles Quarters, Semis and Finals are progressing and will finalize soon. Always a busy, fun club, with lots to do!

Don’t forget we have two great coaches Pavel and Rohan, with whom to book privates or clinics, to improve your game. Now is the time to work on improvement drills rather than in the winter when it’s so expensive.

Some housekeeping announcements:

We have lots of wasps hanging around the club. Sorry, can’t help that. It’s seasonal.Everyone wants free membership and free rent. Just be aware. Try not to whack them, they will fly away eventually. If you’re having a sweet drink, that’s what they’re attracted to.

Admin stuff:

There are lots of Lost and Found items in the clubhouse; please go check the box behind the grey desk.

Do try to pick up your courtside garbage and throw them inSide the bins. The monitors are doing a fine job helping keep courts and clubhouse clean, but your help is appreciated too. Try not to leave food garbage out in the open garbage bins after the monitor has left for the night– the raccoons want free rent and food too! They have toppled the bins a few times, leaving quite a mess. Take it out to the big black bins or take it home and ditch there. Thanks.

Oh, and if you’re a drippy water bottle filler at the water station, you know who you are… take a moment and mop up the little lake, the mop or paper towel is close by. Or just fill a little more carefully. People can slip on the water drips, so help prevent falls by cleaning up after yourself. We’re a community club. Thanks.
