Dear Friends of Don Mills Tennis Club

Hope your winter has gone well, with some or a good amount of indoor tennis.

We’re looking forward to bringing you a wonderful season of tennis in 2023! We have started work to ensure everything is in place so we can have a smooth club opening.

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN on March 1st, 2023! Returning DMTC members get preferential treatment, so don’t delay in registering

Despite inflation everywhere, the Board has decided to hold 2023 member fees the same as last year, while continuing to offer various programming, team support, and services.

Membership Fees:

Adult and Seniors fees stay at $130. Junior fees stay the same at $50 first child, subsequent at $40.

Returning members only can still take advantage of the Early Bird special of $120 if paid before March 27th, 2023. See Table below.

After the returning-member-preferred period, please note the pricing changes and that registration has to open up to the general public as we are a North York (Toronto) mandated facility. So, don’t delay your registration if you’d like a spot at Don Mills, especially at the discounted rate. If the maximum registration limits are reached, people will have to go on a waitlist, former members or not.

We’re one of the few clubs still offering their members an Early Bird special for their loyalty. We are still one of the cheapest clubs around, and we hope you recognize the good value that Don Mills’ membership represents. Where else can you get 6 fantastic new courts, online booking, certified coaches, a variety of programs, and gourmet socials?

The bubble will come down on April 18th, and NYTA needs some time and good weather to pack out. We are aiming to open on Saturday, April 29th, so mark your calendars. Of course, this might be too optimistic, so stay tuned to our website updates or news e-blasts as we might have to adjust to conditions. Coaches are aiming to start lessons for the kids the week of April 24th, if the weather is fine.

Due to popular demand, we will continue to use our online booking system Court Reserve. We will modify court availabilities to suit the greater member need.

Regarding teams and Intercounty Leagues, we look forward to a full season of 14 weeks of play. So far, we have put in our intention to field teams in the Mixed Doubles, Ladies, and Junior League categories. New this year: a 55+ B-team and an NYTA Sat. morning mixed team. More below.

Juniors Programs – Bring the little ones out to try their skills, and see if they like a new sport. The Junior Program, as usual, offers Progressive Junior Tennis Development programs. We will have Junior House League later in the summer, weekday Junior Priority Hours of 4-6 pm, Jr ICTA teams for competitive match play, and summer camp.

April 23/24/25 [Sun-wed] – we will likely be doing the Grounds clean up and putting up nets and windscreens. Inside, we’ll be cleaning out the clubhouse. All volunteers are welcome. Remember, we’re a community club made up of volunteers, not a for-profit academy, so please try to engage in one of the very many volunteer opportunities available during the season.

Our Adult House League will continue on Wednesday evenings. Previous participants all report good things about the camaraderie and well-matched level of players. If you’re looking for friendly competition in a fun atmosphere, please join us Wednesday evenings. 3.0 level and above. You must register to show your interest, and a not-super-serious tryout date will be communicated around mid-May. For more info and registration details, Please check here
