Captains’ Duties
- Captains are responsible for verifying a player’s membership status with the Membership Director. Players should not be scheduled to play unless they are paid members.
- Captains are in charge of deciding who will play each week, with whom, and which time slot.
- Captains must contact the opponent’s representative to verify the time of the matches, to check any dress code at away matches and to schedule rained out matches.
- Captains are to play the best players against the best opposing players to ensure more competitive, enjoyable and fairer competition.
- Captains must inform all players of the schedule at least two days prior to the match.
- Captains are responsible for collecting monies and arranging for refreshments for home matches and ensuring that the clubhouse is clean at the end of each home match.
- Captains must consult with the captain of other DMTC teams when borrowing players as spares and ensure that players understand the League rules of substitution.
Conduct
- Captains and players must become familiar with and abide by both the League Rules and the Don Mills Tennis Club Rules and Regulations.
- Teams should foster good sportsmanship at all times. Conduct considered to be unsportsmanlike may result in the removal of that player from the club premises.
- Any complaints or disputes should be addressed to the Club’s Leagues/Tournaments Director.
