Hello Don Mills Tennis Club members: We are in need of Intercounty C-level players. We have a C team tryout this Thursday, June 24 at 7 pm. If you've been a past C team member, come on out and re-try. It has to be a new team, no special invitations are being sent out. This will be it. For new people to Intercounty team play, it is a Mixed Doubles format, a fairly good level, your time commitments would be Thursday nights, any time between 6:45 pm to 8:30 or 8:30 to 10 pm depending on when you're lined up. Please [...]

Hello Don Mills Tennis Club members: Good news to share -things are opening up as the City announced, so we can launch club programs. But courts will get tighter as you see programs taking precedence! It is a tennis club, so we’ve been spoilt a bit with unlimited booking time. Try to double up and share the prime time space. First off, welcome back to our coaches! Maddeningly, coaching has not been permitted until now under City permit rules, so this impacted our lessons and junior programs, but more importantly our coaches’ livelihood. We’re all set to go now, so welcome [...]

Hello Don Mills Tennis Club members: We’re ten days into operation and it’s great to see the courts busy again! Congratulations to all of you for your wonderful cooperation, booking online [it is easy!], keeping safe distances, and helping the club stay tidy. Things are running very smoothly. We’ve bought new wind screens which will replace some of our worn-out ones, and new shade umbrellas. Please collapse the sun umbrella if no one is coming behind you to play, or if someone left it up for the evening. This prevents breaking of the tines or tearing of the fabric should the [...]

Hello friends of Don Mills: Excellent news to share with you! NYTA brought the bubble down much earlier than anticipated and last week, volunteers under the leadership of Grounds Director Scott Harrald, made great headway setting up the courts, wind screens and nets so we can have earlier access to play. You’ll get two extra weeks to your season. Thank you to all our volunteers! We are working on the final touches with the online booking system, Court Reserve that must be used, so we will be open to take bookings as of this Saturday April 17, 2021. Please be aware and [...]

Dear Friends of Don Mills Tennis Club, We’re looking forward to bringing you a wonderful season of tennis again in 2021! Despite Covid restrictions, we have started planning work to ensure everything is in place so we can have a smooth club opening. We expect that given the current situation, which frustratingly trends positively then negatively, then positively, that we should be able to open and operate as usual. There will still be COVID-19 protocols in place, like hand sanitizing, no walk-ons, masks entering and exiting the courts, etc. but I am assured by the City that unlike last year, Doubles will [...]

Thank you to all who supported our club this year in such troubled times. Hope you had fun doing the Round Robin, met some new friends, and learnt a bit about yourself and your game! Our B Champion is Andrew Kingsmill, who defeated Nik Volkovs, both players were new to our club and to our tournament, thank you for your support, see you in A next year. And congratulations and sincere thanks goes to our Tournament Director Nigel McClean, [...]
